THE POEMS OF ERICA KENDRICK

ESCAPE? OR A BETTER PLACE - BY ERICA KENDRICK

Entrapment,
Did he fall,
Or was he caught?
What was it they
Had said?
"Please tell us all."

Six was the number,
Chalked on the wall,
And on every card,
In his posession.
On the discarded
Badge.

Beauty his the
Ugliness.
They were playing games,
On a larger scale;
Chess, ping pong,
Cat and Mouse.

It was escape of a kind,
Away from his larger,
Outside prison - open,
Yet closed.
