THE VILLAGE STORY BOOK

THE POEMS OF TIM SAWYER

"THE VILLAGE IN FOUR PARTS", By Tim Sawyer.

The Village (Part 1)
I resigned from my job on that fateful day
Then from my apartment I was taken away
To a place called The Village
in some foreign land
A prison cell without bars,
still captured and damned
We want information is what they all say
I guard it inside me as a needle in the hay
I defy them to break me,
it's a cat and mouse game
They say I'm unmutual
'cause I'm not the same
The same as the others is
what they want me to be
A puppet on a string,
they want control over me
They won't get it,
yet I know I'm not free
An unwilling experiment,
a prisoner I be

The Village (Part 2)
I am a prisoner just trying to escape
Day after day it is here that I wake
A global conspiracy from an unseen hand
Puts pressure and probes in on every man
Whos side are they on, that would be telling
A roving white sphere keeps me
in this dang dwelling
They took away my name and gave me a number
It's a devilish game and one that I'm under
The hammer and the anvil, it's a perilling plight
I trust in tomorrow I'll continue to fight
They want information as they torture and pillage
My home away from home
in this place called The Village

The Village (Part 3)
There's nowhere to run
in this forsaken place
They brainwash and drug you
'til your blue in the face
Escape now seems futile
if only just a dream
Number 2 runs the show here
in a dome that is green
Short circuit monitors watch my every step
To extract information of which
they're inept
I'll outwit their plans and
Number 2 will then fail
But soon a new 2 will be back on my tail
I hope to escape and meet Number 1,
the clear mastermind in this prison kingdom
I'll destroy this village,
it's the only clear fix
To be a free man and not Number 6

The Village (Part 4)
The scene unfolds, the courts now in session
Judge with his mallet firm in his possession
He says I have passed the ultimate test,
a kind of hero knowing what was best
I sit on a throne and watch this charade
An army with rifles march and parade
There's a strange looking jury,
I hope they are fair
They wear white hooded robes,
black and white masks everywhere
Judge reads his verdict and says I'm wise
To lead them or leave them
it's for me to decide
So I take to the stand and say how I feel
Hoping the jury believes that it's real
I start to talk but soon burst out yelling
Understanding at all, impossible telling
I make my escape sending missile in air
A tunnel to London, The Village back there
Now I'm home and glad to be back
I get in my car and speed down the tarmack

"NOWHERE MAN" By Tim Sawyer

I shot me a photo, it caused quite a stir
Of what they are after, I am not sure
Now they have taken all away from me
But I have the negative that I won't
let them see
I search on for clues, to find a way out
To get my own life back is all I'm about
They chase me and tell me to just give in
While smoking cigars with their mean
evil grins
Time is now short like the hour glass sand
Lost and still searching I'm nowhere man

"BE SEEING YOU" By Tim Sawyer

The day warm, vast blue sky above
The clouds scurry across unchallenged
How I wish I could do the same
and see the rainy streets of London

Be seeing you

A new game of chess on the
white checkered lawn
There are no shortage of pawns
the broken ones are easily replaced

Be seeing you

The band now plays another number,
a new one this time, it starts to get
on my nerves
Is it because I too have a number

Be seeing you

Almost escaped, so close the last time
They somehow manage,
foiling my moves whether by plan or purely luck
I'm starting to dislike rounded objects

Be seeing you

I see old faces go and new ones arrive
Perhaps the old ones got clever
No new grave sites today
they're alive somewhere I hope

Be seeing you
